I live in Pittsburgh, PA. I have a few favorite restaurants here. What are the best restaurants where you live? If you live in New York or Los Angeles or Chicago....well, it's just not fair. My faves here?

There's also a place within walking distance called Iovino's Cafe that has no website and is spectacular. Just tonight I had an amberjack with wilted spinach and a locally made fetuccine in a sherry cream sauce. Yum.

One of my favorites for a casual lunch or dinner has always been The Toucan Cafe and especially their sister property Sweet Potatoes.

Amazing southern cuisine with a lot of Jamaican flair and sophistication.
Favorite restaurant in Savannah, the one I take dates to (on the rare occasions I have dates):

Elizabeth's on 37th. Pecan-encrusted lamb is unreal. I'm a concierge at a hotel downtown so they let me sample their wine as well as all of their appetizers. Not one was disappointing.
Another favorite, right next to the renowned Lady & Sons Restaurant (which, of course, is not really that great at all)

Sapphire Grill- stay away from their caesar salad (my mistake) but the tuna is amazing.
Of course there's Garibaldi's, Six Pence Pub, Molly McPhersons, Vinny Van Go-Go's pizza, the list goes on. There's good eats in Savannah, GA.

I have a friend that's been to Elizabeth's and she told me it's wonderful.

I live in Illinois now, but was raised in Bradford, PA. Two of my favorite local restaurants are Beefeaters in Bradford and The Beef n Barrel in Olean, NY. They both specialize in Beef on Weck sandwiches. Slow roasted medium-rare beef, kaiser roll with kosher salt and caraway seeds on top known as a kummelwick roll and au jus soaking into the roll. Horseradish on mine, please. Bobby Flay did a show on Buffalo, NY which featured these wonderful tastes of my home turf.

My town is only 2500 people and only has three restuarants. But about twenty miles down the road is a FANTASTIC Thai restaurant "Kour Thai" I can't drive by there without picking up some duck in red curry to go.
About thirty miles away in the other direction is Sicily's steakhouse which is also fantastic.
I do restuarant reviews on a regular basis and that much driving is commonplace in this remote area.
