Lost Potato Gratin Recipe Help

I can't remember or find the November/December 2005-2006 recipe in the back of Saveur that tells how to make great scalloped/gratin potatoes WITHOUT boiling the milk combination first. Does anyone have it? It would sure help with my holiday cooking.

(In fact, I just realized that I think I came across something else that someone is searching for earlier this evening...)
