About 10 years ago Saveur published a wonderful cookie recipe. I havent made it in years, but I think that it was a butter cookie with ground pecans. You roll the dough into balls and bake. When the cookies are warm you roll them in conf. sugar, cool, then reroll them again. They melted in your mouth, absolutely everyone that tries one, has to have a handful, they are that good. I want to say that they may have been in an issue that discussed cookie exchanges. Does anyone have the recipe? Thanks for the trouble.

They have walnuts, not pecans, but seem to fit your description...
